I hear horror stories of kiddos still waking up when they're like a year old and i'm like...nope, no way.

But also I was a pushover and coslept until she was like two, so I had my own personal hell :emoji_joy:

Newborn stage is my favorite lol. Mine was good though and only woke up several times and always went right back to sleep. She was an angel up until about 3, and she hasn't been so pleasant since :emoji_expressionless:

Same with my daughter. I remember it clearly because my wife was staying at home and so she'd get up during the week and I'd get up on the weekends.

The very first night she slept through the night, it was a weekend and my turn to get up during the night. My wife turned to me in the morning and asked me incredulously, "Did you get up at all?". "Nope," I said, "she slept through the whole night!". My wife stared at me and then said "you suck!".

The main reason I remember it so well? That first night sleeping through the night was also my birthday.

Kiddo slept through the night consistently since day 1. It scared the bejesus out of us and we would wake up randomly and just make sure he was still breathing. The doctor said it was because I worked a third shift on-my-feet-all-the-time job during pregnancy and he was rocked to sleep every night in the womb so he just continued that sleeping habit.

when I was 15 I used to say I'd be dead by 30.

As a 32 year old I'm glad to say this was not the case :emoji_sweat_smile:

Like on one hand when they're small it's like "Oh I can cuddle you all night and it's wonderful"

And then they get bigger and it's like "FOR THE LAST TIME GET YOUR FOOT OUT OF MY FACE AND MOVE OVER"

Yeah. We had one bedtime sleeping rule and that was bed was a kid free zone. Not for safety or whatever, it's so mommy and daddy could spend some time together without having a little jabby elbow demon sleeping between us.

She didn't start out in the bed, but after the first few night of waking up and stumbling to the crib, I just decided it would be easier to have her right there :emoji_joy:. Who needs alone time? Not me. Hahaha. Please just let me go pee in peace. Please.

Hmmm... did you compare to what you'd likely pay at a dealer? I assume it came up cheaper if you used it but.. :flail:

Not only was the car itself cheaper but there's no dealer fees, so it ended up being about 2k cheaper for anything similar near me.
