Yeah, that's the one. I can only guess about how parenting styles have gotten more "involved" (to put it mildly). You hear of people going too far and how it affects the kid here and there. That was a really good episode though.

I am gonna approach this in a totally different way; university policy for make-up exams is very strict but at the end it is up to the lecturer/professor;

1. There was a guy who emailed me that he missed the exam since he was sick. I was fine with it, I was going to allow him to take a make-up exam, but since he said he was sick, I HAD TO ask a doctor's note/notice whatever it is. He could not come up with that one by just saying that he did not see a doctor but stayed at his bed all day. FINE. Take the make-up exam.

2. There was another guy who emailed me that he missed the exam since he was on a lake with his girlfriend. It was a summer course. And he told me that, the lake time was so beautiful that he even forgot that he is taking ANY course, so therefore he forgot my exam. FINE. Take the make-up exam.

HONESTY is the number one rule. If you make your kids lie to you, you have to face the consequences. Teach them to be honest, you will never regret.

 

That's rose tinted glasses stuff. Almost all crime is at an all-time low, we just have constant media presence in our lives screaming us to stay scared.

 

I had a good friend recently tell me that the job market is going to open up soon because everyone is getting fired / blacklisted over sexual assault allegations. This is a very smart man. But seriously? Drop in the bucket ocean.
