Oh dear god you just reminded me of ages ago, my second job was a receptionist at a vet clinic. They neutered cats all the time, and I got a nice pair placed on my car windshield once as a prank by the vets.

All this talk about food got me thinking. Sometimes I feel a bit weird, being a male, but not being too into steaks. I would always choose a chicken dish over a steak dish, unless it's a chopped steak.

I remember when I was working as a truck driver, one of the popular truck stops offered a 1 lb. chopped steak (covered in mushrooms, onions, and cheese), mashed potatoes, and a trip to the salad bar -- for $9.99! Sometimes I felt so sick walking back to the truck. I always assumed truck stops had crummy food but was pleasantly surprised, especially at many of the smaller ones. Even non-truckers frequented many of them.

 

Probably was, was... counts on fingers... 14 years ago, and a vet clinic on a military base. All sorts of shenanigans.

I'm not on Reddit but this is something I would like to say to Requesters - When you show examples of how to answer the questions or what you are looking for, use examples comparable to the actual types of things we will run into rather than the most simple, obvious example you can come up with, which in reality we will rarely even see, if at all.
I find it so annoying that the examples Requesters give us don't even come close to being examples of what we are going to deal with. I read the examples and then when I begin the hit I immediately run into things that they did not even mention how to deal with. And often times the hits are nothing like the example questions. So now, I have to feel stupid because I am not sure what to do and the examples are of no help.
There are so many batches that I just don't do because of this and I do not want tons of rejections while I am playing guess how we want you to deal with this.

 

Generally, Matt orders some frou frou salad and I order steak or a burger. They always give him my meal.

People should eat what they enjoy!

You can also do it with a cheap sirloin cut! I'm more of a country steak gal myself. I love a good beef cube steak with the gravy and onions and now I know what I want to make this week.

Going to have to sign out now, but here's a last condiment tip. Check out some fish sauce if you haven't already.
First off, it's fantastic on pizza. Honestly, I think a lot of people who are grossed-out by anchovies might really enjoy the subtler approach of just a couple drops of this stuff. You might also find that it's sometimes a good replacement for soy sauce, or even salt for that matter on some dishes. It's very salty and fishy but easy to use sparingly. Some of them have MSG and some don't, if you'd prefer to avoid that.
