Well, I said, "some of these people" (not sure I remember the exact words),, referring to the people who pay a dollar an hour or less. I am not certainly not complaining about ALL requesters, otherwise I would not be working on mTurk at all.

 

No problem with putting the initial sear on one at that temp, as long as you can quickly put it on a spot with a lower temp to finish it. That's impossible to do on a big green egg.

I wanted to tell the guy I already have a Weber to cook steaks on.

 

While I agree with you, what I said earlier I would truly love to be able to tell Requesters- if they could learn how to give instructions that catered to their particular hits, maybe they would not get so many bad results. It is not that hard to train people to give you exactly what you need and that is what I wish so bad to see when I read instructions. meh

 

I also don’t trust most people to be smart enough to not Bork their steaks that way tbh LOL.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but you can see where I’m going with that one.

 

Seriously, though, if the atmosphere in here is so important (I would care about it too, if I ran the site), I often see some fairly lewd/offensive things being posted in here. The other day I popped in here and was shocked at what was being posted -- and I think there were even mods present on the board.

 

You're fine. What you said is actually one of my biggest wishes Requesters would pay attention to too. But it was delving into the politics line elsewhere which is all my comment was harping at lol.

Most things either get spoilered or removed. Having live update kinda wrecks that for people watching the thread in real-time, but you can also report posts if you feel like it crosses a line.

Yep. You can definitely cook a nice steak on the thing, but not how he was describing it.

200-225 and smoke, that's what I need.

 

I will always cuddle my trusty cast iron and my favorite stainless steel.
