I'd be uncomfortable with that. This is where working on a platform has its advantages.

I have done a lot of freelance work over the years, and not once have I ever had to give my bank account info.

 

Best part of the Super Bowl was the Eli Manning commercials and that the new Cloverfield movie was announced and is now on Netflix.

 

I mean. You can certainly ask him to use PayPal or use something like Payoneer, where an employer can either send you a direct deposit after you let him know your billables or you can bill them for however many hours you worked as well through it. That’s how I deal with 90% of the places I work for. I would really hesitate to give my full bank info to someone if I wasn’t totally sure of the company they worked for with offish paperwork for direct deposit.

I thought that was a bit odd, too. I assumed he might send a check (or pay me through Amazon). However, he does have a profile on LinkedIn -- also, he was not actively recruiting workers (in that case, I'd immediately distrust it). He had posted a couple of batches on Amazon recently, and was dissatisfied with the quality of the work. He mentioned he'd love it if he could assign an entire batch to one worker -- so I messaged him about it. The current project won't be posted on Amazon but on their own database.

 

I wonder how much extra business the music on their website brings in...

Everyone knows how to use paypal. Even e-transfers only require an email address.

You should at least inquire about being paid in a way that makes you more comfortable, and if it still doesn't pass the smell test, you should trust your gut.

 

At least it grabs attention. I wasn't expecting techno music...

 

When things seem like too much of a hassle, I usually avoid it. I was expecting the work to be done through Amazon, which feels more secure to me than giving my info to someone I've never met face to face.
