A few other places do too! There are like 3-4 places (at least) total that you can file most or all for free if you make less than 66k a year. We talked about this somewhere back on the forum recently.

For those doing taxes, check out your state's site, some of them have free or low-cost software or online forms you can do your taxes on (Hint - PA does if you make under "x" amount - $18 otherwise IIRC)

    Also - https://www.irs.gov/filing/e-file-options

If you have a complicated tax situation of course, it's better to have some pro help. Taxes are YOUR responsibility, so take what you read online with a grain of salt.

Then you don't need to file one. 1040, sched C, sched SE for business income. I used H&R Block last year and their free version let me file just fine. I don't know if you have state taxes or if that's free through H&R as WA doesn't have state taxes.

Edit: if you pay quarterly then it may be different. I've never paid quarterly as I have extra witheld from my W-2 job to cover.

If your income in below the threshold and you're able to file for free then try the TurboTax, H&R Block or the other free filing ones that walks you through. I've used both in past years and they both are pretty good at hand holding. If it's too much as you're working through it, you can always stop and go see someone to do it for you. There is nothing wrong with going to see a professional and having it done if you're uncertain.

I suspect we're going to fall into the "would LOVE to help, but probably can't do a hell of a lot" category when the time comes...

If mommy and daddy could pay for your college, they wouldn't be filling out surveys for pennies. FILL OUT THE DAMN FORMS.
