I'm just so ughhhh with her. Like this is completely normal behavior for her, and I pretty much knew to expect it, but it doesn't make it any less aggravating.

She's the same kind of person that I can't talk to about ANYTHING good that happens in my/Cissnei's life because instead of knowing how to be happy for us she gets mad/jealous and either stops talking, changes the subject, or goes on a huge pity party with her signature phrase "must be nice".

For example, a list of things lately :
-Cissnei being in cheerleading/soccer. I can't talk about anything to do with either of them because it's always responded to with "Must be nice for her to get to do all that stuff. I wish Emily (my 8 year old sister) could do that kind of stuff, but i'm just too old to take her to do it."
-Us going on vacation. That was met with intense silence.
-Cissnei getting more in donations for Jump Rope for Heart than Emily did when she did it.
-Us having enough money to not stress out about things all the time (for perspective, Chris works 40+ hrs a week, sometimes up to 65,by choice because they often have overtime available, and she makes more hourly than he does but only works 2 days a week, also by choice, because she's "too old to be able to handle it" at 49)

 

My little guy is home with a fever and cough today. It's taken out so many in his class these past few weeks. Hope she gets feeling better soon!

 

Wow, that must be so hard. She is supposed to be happy for you!! I can't imagine not being happy for the things that make my girls happy!! I'm 49 so I'll step in as your mom for a minute - "Wow, that is great that Cissnei is getting all those donations. She must be so excited. When is her next soccer game, I want to go watch her! That is so nice that you guys can go on a vacation, you need it!"

Thank you . I firmly believe that some people just should not be parents, and that is totally fine until they decide to be them anyway. She is one of those people.I honestly would just not have anything to do with her, but she is the only person I have here aside from Chris, and so sometimes I need her (taking me to appointments when he's at work, and watching Cissnei when we need to go do things that we can't take her with us for).

Oh god she would just launch into a huge Grinchfest about how she IS tired because last night she had to make dinner AND take a shower so she was up all night!

Literally when she takes a shower (which is WAY less often than it should be ) it's an all day affair. And by that I mean she spends all day complaining any time someone goes in the bathroom or anyone else wants to take a shower because "I need to take a shower today", and then finally late at night she gets in and is in there for 40 minutes.
