Looks like we built the same desk with the sawhorse clamps and everything. Mine is 24' by 48' pine top though.

 

Federal tax refund has hit my account...

This delay for people who get the earned income credit business is killing me

 

We keep meaning to make more permanent legs, but we've moved so many times recently, and now we are looking at houses. It's just easier to plop the desk flat against the inside of the moving truck and move the saw horses than dealing with anything else. He did a really nice job though, I still point it out to everyone we meet. He pulled it off one of the oldest barns on the property , and it was not nearly as pretty.

Honestly, we weren't supposed to get much of one. Until we found out that because my stepson took dual-credit classes this past year as a senior in highschool, we got back extra for that.

Normally we don't get back much, if any.

And then I just used prefinished shelving for the top. They are stackable - I have two stacked and loaded down with school and office supplies - mostly notebooks and papers and the shelves are sturdy.

My fave office setup used the "sawhorse" desk legs from IKEA and a gorgeous custom top, and took up the entire wall length of the office. The opposite wall was the big cubbies from IKEA - can't remember their names off the top of my head.
