Should be less, sounds like an efficiency thing for the school so they can just meal prep.

Maybe they really want to know how much of each food they will have to make in advance and they are saying its for convenience to get people to use it

and more tax money spent on something completely un necessary meanwhile Our district used to be known for this really cool week long camping/science program that every student got to do in 7th grade. Parents would be dropping their kids off on the first day reminiscing about when they did the same thing had to cut it a few years ago because it was to expensive

I always brought my lunch to school but it seemed to take a while for the kids to get through the line, by then your lunch period was half over and you had to rush through your meal. I'm not sure how you won't have to stand in line for this anyway. They aren't going to deliver it to your table are they?

This will save money in the long run.

Instead of making 1,000 PB&Js & 1,000 Ham sandwiches they can just make the # they have pre-ordered. Otherwise you have to make one of each per kid b/c outside of stats tracking (which isn't perfect) you don't know which one they'll pick on any given day.

Anything not eaten = loss. Etc etc.

Also eventually they can replace the humans w/ automated systems much more easily this way.

Does seem like less waste and work for the kitchen. I don't know how the no line thing works though. Do all the kids rush a table with boxed lunches sitting on it? Seems like there would have to be a line for picking them up.

You tell your preferences for the week and it is ready when you arrive, you have to still pick it up. but you do not wait others to pick each of food separately.

Sandwiches? What happened to the crappy microwave pizza and stuff they served in my school. The rare occasions I decided to get anything at school, it was french fries or some mediocre microwave doughnuts they used to serve.
