I suggest working on the Julian Michael HITS. They are not that great paying but they approve quick and the bonuses makes them a little better. If you were willing to put in a few hours you could get your approved HITS over 1000 which will help you out. Good luck!

As a newbie, don't be discouraged! It's a lot of trial and error to start to get traction, and of course that first hurdle is getting more approved hits to open the door to more hits available to you. After that, it really depends on how you're looking for work, what work you're personally best at/enjoy the most, and of course how much time you can afford to put in. Do you use other scripts like Overwatch or any type of scraper (HitFinder or HitForker)?

Hitting 1,000 approved w/o eating anymore rejections will open up a good deal of work to ya (are they from receipts like p9r/scoutit? if so try and avoid that kinda work, its underpaid and really not worth it), as someone just said Julian's aren't great pay but they'll get you #s which helps. There are a lot of trickle penny HITs you can panda throughout the day like that if you need #s.

Once you hit 1k (or even before if you don't mind grinding surveys) definitely focus on your hourly more than straight #s though. Its fairly easy to make a few bucks just accepting/pandaing surveys that pop up on the forum that other folks share and that can get you up to speed as far as money goes super quickly while you learn/get a handle on things to fly solo. You wanna eventually get good at finding/accepting HITs right off your scraper (hit finder, hit forker, etc) though since fast fingers there will pay dividends . You can start by clicking on anything that is green on TV/TO rating on the scraper, but there is also good money to be made on HITs that have no ratings at all - though that's also riskier since you'll get rejections at a slightly higher clip as well.

So, I don't use anything like Overwatch, but I do have a script called HIT Scraper with Export Legacy. It's enabled, but that's about it lol

 

Wow, thanks for all the information. Yes, they are from P9r, I emailed P9r and was told that there was an error with their approval process, and it has been rejecting people improperly, so they reversed my rejections. I had to email them 3 times, on 3 separate occassions, and they reversed them each time. I'll definitely be using the scrapers more often

 

Haha, if you're learning either way it might be best to dump HS now. Its super outdated and the original author isn't around anymore as far as anyone knows. MTS (www.mturksuite.com) is really good for newbies because its pretty basic & covers almost everything at least at a basic level.

Hit forker is the best standalone scraper that exists nowadays, and its usually paired w/ panda crazy for a feature rich panda tool - but MTS has the basic functionalities of all of those things in one package which can sometimes be easier to grasp. It just depends on which makes the most sense to ya since at the start it can all be super overwhelming.

Turking has a MASSIVE learning curve, so just "easy mode"ing into a base income stream is super helpful so you can at least earn a decent bit while learning the ins/outs.

Yeah, that system has been broken for years now apparently they're well known for it which is why most folks avoid them quickly as they onboard onto mturk

It's a qualifier to do, if I recall correctly, 14 more physics tests at $1 each. I doubt I did well enough to qualify, though.
Cons:
Low, low pay from a multibillion-dollar university. Not worth it if you're not good at answering physics questions.

Chris covered just about everything I was going to go with, silly overachiever. Whatever scraper works best for you (a very popular one is HitFinder in MTS, you can click that to find out more information), and HitForker is an off-shoot of HitFinder that many people prefer. It always comes down to personal preference, so whatever works best for you, don't be afraid to fire it up, play around with settings to find out what works best for you, and start by grabbing some (or pandaing some) highly rated work.

Like Chris said, you'll find that some work isn't reviewed or reviewed badly, but while you're looking at increasing your earnings and staying in the safe zone away from rejections, if you keep your eye on highly rated stuff you'll bump up your numbers. Once you get comfortable with your workflow, you'll find yourself exploring more and finding more and more work and learn how to fish through bad reviews, make your own judgement, etc.

It also always comes down to what works best for you personally. Some people only do surveys while other people only do batches. You'll find that some people are amazing at some work that you just can't make work for you, and that's okay because you'll find your own strengths. It takes a lot of patience to figure out what workflow works for you and what work you're best at, but it's one of those things that gets easier with time and experience.
