02/24 - Swooping Saturday!

Yeah, I can understand that. MTurk has been my only source of income since November -- prior to that, I worked on here on my days off and evenings. I came across a good batch from a requester with only one (somewhat negative) review on TO -- I wanted to post a good review but then reconsidered. The HITs paid $.84 for 2-3 minutes of work.

However, I would not prevent somebody from sharing if they wanted to do so.

 

Yeah, but imagine the feeling of one of your highest paying requesters being "leaked" like that. I think people who overshare like that either don't realize the size of the audience they're spoon feeding or don't rely on it as a primary source of income (or are doing it to blow up someone else's work out of spite).

It's a really touchy subject and many, many, many arguments have been had over it over the years, but like leafs said, TH has established a very good balance. Some forums are "share everything!" and others are "share nothing!" and a lot of spite comes out of both... but luckily we're a pretty good group here that keeps a happy medium.

Whoa, how did that show up? I was going to post that message hours ago when somebody was talking about going to high school in the 90's.(which made me wonder about the general age range of people on the forum).

 

I kinda like it because of the subdivision search feature.

Which...is super helpful when a listing has the complex listed.

 

The only requester to hard block you when you never even submitted a hit, real nice people there.

 

I should probs check out that front page...I've only been doing search by addy...which sucks when there are 15 different ways to search for county highway 30 east and only one of them is going to be the right one.

Putting it like that makes a lot of sense. I just found out about crowdsourcing/MTurk at the beginning of February and didn't really understand how this is like a main source of income for some people so they are probably pretty "stingy" (for lack of a better word) with the good requesters but that makes perfect sense. This is a side source for me just to get some some debt paid down and off (and extra source once I go on maternity leave) so as long as I can make a little extra on the side I'm good! I just didn't know how others were making hundreds, I think I saw over $500 before, in a week!! But it's a lot of variables to it I see.
