Since I'm trying to get my numbers up, are there any popular penny requesters that are known for good quick HITs that I should look out for? I just tried CopyText before somebody said to stay away and I see why they said it lol

Yeah, I've noticed that, but (I think) the field was empty when I began typing.

Anyways, just wanted to clarify myself, because taken out of context, I realized it sounded bad.

The best one I know of is Amazon Requester Inc - Customer Interests
Unfortunately most of their batches require at least 1k approved. Occasionally they do post batches that don't have an approval requirement. They post irregularly, but if you see a big batch from them that you're qualled for, do as many as you can.

Every Sunday the thread here will be filled with users posting their weekly email that amazon sends out which gives you the total HITs paid that week, and that can give you a decent barometer of what work was like for other people. You'll see everything from $20 a week to $1000 a week, depending on the worker and the week.

But yep, like you said, a lot of variables. A majority of it depends on the type of work you prefer. For example, I can make $300+ on audio transcriptions in 2 days worth of work, but not many people like transcription work. There's another popular batch, rekognition judging videos or something or other that I absolutely hate doing, but others can bring in a couple hundred on those. It also depends on closed qualifications, like the one a few of us are doing today to make really good money, but not everyone has access to. So, it is good to pay attention to what other people are making, but with a LARGE grain of salt... and/or use it as motivation. Especially since you're so new and extremely limited with what you can do yet, but take it more as what you can get to with more experience and qualifications. :)

Probably a silly question, but are closed qualifications only for certain people to complete like a requesters regulars or like I have to have a certain number of approved HITs and some other approved quals?

Not at all a silly question! It can be multiple things. There can be qualification tests attached to a HIT, where it teaches you how to do the work and make sure you understand it, then the requester will approve or deny you the qualification. There's also qualification HITs that you'll see posted, same deal as the test but it'll be in the form of a HIT (and usually paid). And then some requesters decide to choose their best workers and assign a qualification, without saying that's what they're doing, so it always pays to do the best you possibly can because you never know when something will go closed qual.

Jessers gave good advice about qualifications in general.

A "closed" qualification is a qual that was given out at some point in the past but the requester isn't giving it out anymore. If you didn't get it when it was first given out, you missed your chance. Every once in a while a closed qual will re-open and add more people.

Don't worry too much about closed quals. If you see an opportunity to get a qual, go for it. Don't fret over the things you've missed out on.
