This little dude is very easy to deal with, he has that lab urge to dig holes under the fence but that's about it, his owners are just garbage people who refuse to fence their place in at all or walk him on a leash or anything reasonable besides locking him in the garage half the day and then just letting him out and not even keeping an eye on him and think it's ok for a dog to be running along the highways and don't feed him enough and I'm 90% sure just ditched him at this point cause he showed up last night with bloody paws, covered in dirt, and no longer wearing his collar. I tried to make myself think it came off somehow but after I've called and texted both of them a bunch of times and they are ignoring me/my fiance so I'm guessing it's exactly what I think it is. Their dad grazes his cows on our farmland so you can bet your ass I will be talking to him about this come Monday. The number of times the dog has come here is through thee roof and he's been taken by animal control before and I'm just not letting that bullshit happen any longer to such a sweet dog. Just glad he made it to my yard and didn't end up hit by another car or in the stray dog pokey.

It's probably become obvious I have real issues with people who neglect their pets and it's one of the few times I turn into a crazy harpy Yankee Grinch! That's right folks, the Bird will cut a Grinch over doggo welfare.

Ugh. Poor baby. There isn't a leash law where I live. Most people still keep them up most of the time but there is one set of neighbors who don't put them on leashes when they let them out. I know at least 2 or 3 of their dogs have been hit by cars and a few more have had narrow escapes but they still let them a few times a day and don't keep an eye on them. Right now there is a unfriendly lab who barks at me whenever I'm outside when he comes over. First lab I've ever met who wasn't friendly. And a shepard that seems okay but he has a choke collar and I'm always worried he will get stuck on something and hurt himself. And I'm assuming they still have a couple of weenie dogs but I haven't seen them in awhile so I can't be sure. Other than there's only a couple other dogs loose often, a couple of little squirrel dogs who mostly stay in their own yard and a beagle who comes over occasionally to poop on things. Never on the ground, he doesn't like his poop to hit dirt.

Of course I could be slightly insane expectation on how people treat their dogs. I have a spoiled 16 year old chihuahua who won't eat dog food any more so I have to cook and puree her meals every day or two. And she doesn't like to eat out of bowls so I usually have to feed her by hand. She gets whatever she wants whenever it is she wants it. She has me very well trained.
