I got a rejection from a high pay experiment as well but after talking, not only I got it reversed but also I got my bonus increased due to apology. I hope the experiment ran over at their servers and could find your results.

So sorry for your loss. You did the right thing. I had my best bud for 13 years, "Bear" had the same thing and I tried to take care of him at home, was giving him fluid injections, etc. It was difficult and he just kept losing weight and getting sicker and sicker and finally I was like, he just wants to die in peace. So, I took him to the vet and they gave him the shot. I held him and literally within 15 seconds, he went to dead weight in my arms. You kept your kitty from suffering and I commend you for that- good call, poor sweet kitty.
