    All I know is that teachers tell us parents not to bother helping our kids with math. Kind of makes it easier for us. I don't think algebra can be common core though? It looks the same to me...

    My cousin's teacher actually gave us the okay to teach him how to divide properly when all of us were having trouble with it and he found it much easier that way as well. Telling a parent to not help their child with their education just seems outright wrong to me. My cousin actually told me that they don't learn vocabulary or how to spell and that they should just use "whatever sound natural" instead of proper spelling. Which is absolute bullshit when you have a thick Southern accent.

    Apparently they aren't allowed to take their math books home. I was pretty sure of how to solve the problem and she said "Are you sure?" instantly I doubted myself.

    Have her take pictures of the book next time. She could even go to the back for the answer key and take a photo of that.

    LOL! My nephew had this rule once. My sister bought used versions of the same books to have at home. Something to consider. And it was pretty cheap since they went with used books, and they didn't need it to be the best used version, just wanted something for him to use at home.
