Description: This task deals with collecting short audio snippets of keywords or multi-word phrases, which will be used to train machine learning (artificial intelligence) models. The worker will be showed a short phrase every 2.5 seconds and must speak the phrase that appears within 1.5 seconds. Once all the samples are finished and collected, the worker can finish the task by clicking the 'Upload' button. The task will be marked as complete once all the samples are successfully uploaded, and you will be re-directed to the MTurk console thereafter. There is a short tutorial video demonstrating the task, followed by a short practice round, to get you accustomed to the task. By participating, this website will ask for permission to use your microphone and prompt you to speak single words which we will record (the "Study"). These words will appear on-screen, one after another, over the course of around five minutes, with short pauses in between. When the microphone is active, you'll see an oscilloscope display showing a waveform reflecting the audio received. The 'Record' button will turn red when a word is being recorded (each a "clip"). Clips will be displayed in the bottom half of the web page where you can review and re-record any of them locally before submitting them to be uploaded. Clips will only be sent to our database when you press the 'Upload' button once you've completed all the requested words. At any point you can press the 'Pause' button to pause the recording process. If you choose to participate in this Study, you must be in a quiet environment with no other voices and only speak the requested words. A closed room is a good place for this.
