that's what they tried to do recently with the premium qualifications, but requesters have to pay extra to use those. if i was a requester, i'd ask the questions rather than paying extra to amazon

 

There's no indication mTurk really wants to be a survey platform, its just kind of defaulted to it because it has the largest pool of humans easily accessible to researchers. Pretty much everything about mTurk is hostile as shit to academic requesters though lol.
