An experience that made me very unhappy was I tried to do a consumer research study, but the researchers felt the need to 'prime' people before taking the survey. So, they ask a completely unrelated question and had me write at least one hundred and fifty words about it. They did not even pick a happy topic, they apparently wanted me to be in a bad mood before taking the survey. I did the writing, because I am dedicated like that, but I was unhappy and irritated the entire time. My irritation grew as I realized the survey creator did not include a word count for my essay, so I had to take the time to copy and paste my writing into a word count program. Imagine my frustration when, at first try, I only had ninety of my one hundred and fifty words. In conclusion, my main feeling during this experience is that priming does not work, it mostly causes your quality workers to return the survey and move on to sequesters that value our time.

 

Does anyone know the approval time for the Cornell HITs?
