    I live in SoCal....still snows cause OF COURSE I LIVE IN THE AREA OF SOCAL WITH SNOW.

    Anywho, growing up in the NE, I had these:

    I used to sit on my window sill next to it when it would go off as a kid and I would stick my feet over it. Eventually, my dad made nifty radiator covers and I would just plop myself on those and I REGRET NOTHING.

    Yeah we have them in all the old pre 70's model homes where I am at. However, no one really pays for gas in central Texas, so they are never used. Just covered so kids don't hurt themselves.

    We had gas and oil and the giant oil tank in the basement used to creep me out when I was little for some reason. I'm not sure why, but I think maybe I was anxious it would blow me up? Who knows.

    Everyone has gas wall heaters here and it's especially fun when the dogs/cats run by it and their hair floats into the vents. Mmmm, burnt hair smell. They should sell that as a candle scent.
