Does active only count if you are actually talking in here?

 

Going by last active time isn't a good indicator. You can sit on the daily thread without refreshing cause of live update. Take mine for example, says I was last active 33 min ago

 

I mean if someone is running the forum in a window with desktop notifications on whenever a hit is posted they can click every hit that gets posted and not actually interact the forum.

 

No, never seemed like a feature worth putting behind a paywall to me since forums blow dick w/o it.

Activity doesn't update on random clicks & stuff. You have to post or navigate away from the page.

Most folks using live update will disappear from the forum entirely after less than an hour unless they do something to refresh the session w/ XF.
