I've found the perfect way to meet SurveyComet's new guidelines: work 75 hour weeks, don't go to bed until 3am anyways and have a horrible hangover. Then you don't even have to fake the timer at all. I'm exactly 20 minutes in and exactly half way done.

If you take under 40 minutes on future HITs you will be rejected

 

Please note that this week responses that do not meet the criteria described below will be rejected.

Below are some criteria that must be met in order for your HITs to be accepted:
1) Even if you are a great forecaster, please spend some time reading an extra article or two. While we realize that some people are faster than others, we will not approve tasks that were completed in less than 40 minutes - no matter what the rationale looks like. We are paying for 2 hours of your time for these HITs.
2) The rationale should consist of at least two (2), but preferably three (3) or more full sentences.
3) Refer to at least one specific fact from your reading/research that is relevant to your forecast.
4) Provide some insight into your thinking process.
5) For example, if the forecast is based on data charts, please reference a specific relevant fact from the charts. Here is an example:
(a) Question:
“How many 'hacking or malware (HACK)' data breaches will Privacy Rights Clearinghouse record in May 2018?”
(b) Rationale:
Bad: Looking at historical data, I see that the hacking rate will be high.
Good: Looking at historical data, there were 9 data breaches in April resulting from hacking. The trend shows the rate of data breaches is going down, although there is some variability in this trend. My prediction is that it will stay around the same rate as in May.

Below is another example of what we consider to be an adequate rationale:

“It is my opinion that the UN Security Council will more than likely come up with a resolution regarding Somalia due to all the turmoil and heightened security risk present in the country. There have already been resolutions made, but with all that is going on more resolutions need to be put in place. There is too much turmoil, food shortages and national disasters going on, leading to something having to be done about it. Once resolutions have been made I believe more will follow shortly after.

These are the actionable takeaways:
1) Not meeting the above criteria during this week’s HIT will likely lead to a rejection.
2) Please update last week’s rationales that do not meet the guidelines (2-4), or we may not be able to invite you back next week.
