06/15 - Finally Friday!

They notice us, but they don't seem to care. I think that once they visit a few times they realize that the window is a barrier. My cat has an ongoing feud with a cardinal who actually likes to stare into the house and doesn't flinch when my cat launches himself at the window. The bird will actually peck the glass to get my cat's attention, which is pretty annoying.

So leafy is ~2 hours behind on the thread.

 

We've had several over the years. We also had a blue one that just had a big hole in the back so they felt more sheltered and you could still get pretty up close and watch them. Birds have issues with the cats now and then (scared of them) but once they realize the cats can't get them, they actually get pretty brave and almost taunt the cats (neener neener you can't get me!) Also, we have much less bird suicides on the windows that have had the feeders (even once they are gone) than the ones without. Just one of the four windows in my office has a particularly high bird splat rating, and it's never had a feeder... and I don't plan on changing that, because, bird splat. LOL
