Can I ask a question? I'm not trying to get everyone's details, but I have forker going, pc and overwatch going, and of course this forum. I am still only making around 40 bucks a day. I have over 25000 approved hits and 99.7 approval rating. Should I be doing something different or does that amount seem right? I am on usually 8-3 ish. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to give some advice, and I understand to those that are hesitant.

Honestly, without special skills (coding, years of experience, OCD levels of obsession with optimizing workflow) --- that's not bad at all for mTurk. I'd honestly say you're probably above the majority of workers on the platform, its just this place is skewed so it probably looks like you're doing worse than you are. Very difficult to compare to a lot of folks here who are doing it all day, have closed quals, have masters, have tons of experience, customized workflows, etc etc. Those are all things that come with time. Sitting w/o any of 'em, you're doing alright.

 

Go over to /r/mturk and they will treat you like a god for making over $30 in a day and call you a liar for making over $100 every week day.

Yeah we are a bit skewed here.

 

I turk about 8 hours a day, amid distraction. I have about 5 closed quals, no masters, no script except TV, and pull $30-$35 on average. So IMO you're doing fine.

 

Ok, thanks! Yes, I know not to compare myself to people here haha! I have only been seriously doing mturk since February 9th. I'm happy with my progress, but I have been trying to figure everything out my own and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything important. I have researched and googled but there's always something else to learn.

Nah, frankly I'd think you're ahead of the curve for only a few months in tbh. Keep at it and eventually when Sep/oct rolls around you might pick up Sergey's qual, something dumb will roll around the forum for back-to-school which will be good for a few weeks as a qual, etc etc and those are usually a couple $/day extra here & there.

Just how it goes, the beginning stages of getting into mTurk serious is all super rapid improvement, but there's always kind of an upper-limit on the easy stuff haha. 80/20 rule & all that jazz, you'll get there

If anyone is having issues with the live chat I was able to fix mine by doing a full restart of chrome.

 

Ok, that was good for a laugh, and I can actually see that being true to an extent! Man, I would kill to be at 100 a day, but I only made 100 bucks in a day ONCE. I was doing nothing but Julian Michaels, Percy Liang's, and the dreaded p9r's. I worked almost constantly for about 20 hours straight lol I don't think I can do that again!

 

I wonder if anyone has tested out the video chat feature in the live chat yet.

 

I would try it, but I'm currently shirtless and covered in sweat.
