Skeeter is probably taking notes as we speak.

He's gotten much better, but he still has accidents (especially if I'm out of the house or sleeping and he gets too anxious) and it really sucks I can't leave him in the tiny yard when I'm out grocery shopping or something, without knowing he'll be stressed from the howling and eventually bark back for an hour. Even when he's silent, the others go nuts, and he will sometimes just panic sit in the yard and stare at me. In the last couple houses, we had enough space/the ability to make him a space he could hang out in when I wasn't around and still have cover/heat/etc. I love the little guy, but he's like an 8/10 on not panic peeing or having an accident. Sometimes, I wake up to him silently staring at me like 6 inches from my face, cause he's too anxious to just bark at me or nudge me (ANYTHING) to wake me up and let me know. If I don't wake up in a few minutes, he will just go on a puppy pad. At least he understands the purpose of the puppy pad.

My neighbors flat out don't give a shit tho. I don't know how they sleep half the time, cause I'm up in the middle of the night, listening to their dogs howl for hours on end some nights.

 

I know enough about true crime and serial killers to know that the type of people who think pet dogs should be kept outside 24/7 are probably sociopaths.

Hell, even my great-great aunt and uncle who were super old school and in the "take 'em out back and shoot 'em" generation, had a husky/gsd who went nuckin' futs in his old age. Everyone told them to lock him outside until he died (as if it was a totally normal option) and they were like, uhh, no you freaking psycho, so they ended up converting their back porch into a three-seasons room and fenced off half of the backyard for his doggy door. Even a dog that "should" have been contained was given an entire bedroom and backyard to himself. <3

You should just take him to the store with you. Put him in the cart. I do that with Perry if I think he's having a bad day and I don't want to leave him alone. He's not much of a barker, so it's cool. Just can't really buy much.

 

For some reason, my sexy french maid always turns german.

Instead, I do my best german accent and say things like, "You are wanting me to vash your vindows and make the hand sexes to you, yah?"

I will neither confirm nor deny the existence of a themed outfit.

 

I do take him to dog friendly stores, but I don't think I can manage to sneak him into the grocery store


Am now wondering if I can convince people he's a child with a weird skin condition.
