I was speaking more about community participation than MTurk itself or the number of people using it. You can see it alone in the post counts that pretty much every forum has declined over the last year or so. Granted, post counts aren't the best indicators, but I think they're telling.

But this is all just in reference to a post I made on my forum about cancelling forum awards because donations weren't high enough to support it. More than a third of our monthly donation goal was going toward maintaining those awards and it just didn't make sense to continue with it. I believe we were the only forum still running monthly awards with monetary prizes anyway.

You see it in the post counts here because a solid % of the posts on this forum now happen in private arenas as we support multiple platforms + I'm building out huge extensions to the place & require some folks attention.

There's a huge difference between what you can see with what is actually here, sadly, but that's how some platforms prefer to run & serving them is good for Turkers so I do what I do when I can do it lol. If you go back a few weeks you'll notice the threads were super active and then a vacuum sucked the life out of them lol. Sadly, a lot of those users don't participate nearly as much in the public daily threads as I wish they'd get off their asses and do CC: @ThisPoorGuy (jk dude love uuuu) but...

I'm very, very happy w/ it overall because as many people who I can shove $$$ into their pockets as I can are now making more than ever because they were active, contributing members of this site. So the post count thing sucks, but overall its been a huge net boon to the userbase here.

Anywho, understood, just trying to explain from my perspective because it doesn't hold true here IMO. I don't blame you one bit w/ the award stuff, I stopped doing them here because they tend to just be popularity contests anyway and its way cooler to highlight everyone doing various things then only get to shout out 1 person a month haha.

 

They are a bunch of fucking slackers

 

It's skewed because a bunch of people reviewed the day to day hits instead of just reviewing day one and adding the rest as bonus pay + editing time.

Right. So I've edited my review with a completely inaccurate $2 bonus so that the hourly matches what this really pays and explained that in my update. Adding a $21.50 bonus to just one HIT makes this seem like it is a $150+/hourly, which I wouldn't want to convey even though this paid well.

 

Look, I didn't come over here to try to say that anyone is doing any worse or better than anyone else. I made a post about my forum's situation on my own forum, and someone over here called me out for it. I just came over here to state that I meant nothing towards this forum by what I said (I didn't even mention other forums.) I'm happy that you're doing well, but I do truly believe that participation within the MTurk community as a whole is not what it was a year ago, or even two years ago. I wasn't pointing fingers at anyone. I'll go now.

 

you can null the other 3 hits and mark one hit as 1+24 bonus for 30 minutes. that's likely the most accurate.
