I have to pick out a (new) food processor for my birthday. Normally, this would be fun, but in this case...already a nightmare!

Why, you ask? Because Matt's mom is in one of her "determined to buy Bird off with gifts," phases and wants to split one with Matt so that she has spent an equal amount of $$$ on gifts for our respective birthdays. So I have to only pick one in a certain price range ...k. Cause that's a healthy thing to freak out about. She's never bought me a birthday gift to this point (it's "hard to remember," despite being exactly a month after Matt's. I don't care mind you. It's just funny this is her reasoning) and is now determined to impress me with a nice gift I want.

This will probably not last long, but man, I think she's petrified I'm gonna ban her from the state of california and steal her son forever like the avian succubus she thinks I am. The last time she got me a nice kitchen appliance, she terrorized me during thanksgiving and got caught by our other guests (and thus, not able to deny it when 3 different people told Matt she was yelling at me every time he was gone).

Also, @Buntastic , she has tacitly agreed to call me Bird from now on, as Matt demanded she stop "spiting" me, given I'm the only one with the patience to put up with her/feed her/remember her. I'm sure she'll find other ways to be Satan to me, but I have already gotten so much joy from her calling me Bird a total of 2 times so far.
