It is different, TM just refreshes everything at preset intervals which generates errors galore if overloaded, whereas pc uses cycles so if you have 10 pandas with a 1sec interval you only get a shot at each panda every 10 seconds (whitch isn't necessarily more or less than tm depending on which pandas the errors are cancelling out)

I might have to try out PC when I'm not trying to get specific batches. I don't keep every single TM HIT on at all times so I've never had too much errors.

DI2B dropped their pay from $2 to $1. Definitely not worth the time now

 

I dont use either much but I remember when tm came out I fell in love with the visual and audio slickness. pc feels dated and looks like the scripts I used to make for aol in the 90s but errors are really annoying and I never get them wit h pc

 

I feel like that person deserves bonus.

I was thinking about today's identity theft drama, and it reminded me of a post by our sorely missed comrade @stanleymilgram. He posted this on 6/2/2016:

"As a requester, I have requested the data and they gave it to me without providing an EIN or my social. My HITs were from a mailinator account and a prepaid visa card. I was testing something for my clinic basically and didn't want to commit anything. So as a test, I requested my social since I did the HITs.

I did less than 5 bucks in HITs and got my name, address, social, birthdate and past address history as well as total earnings information for the quarter. I was curious what a requester *really* had access to when they sent me an email reminding me that my company may have different thresholds, and I could request it at will. They did not know it was me since it was under a pseudonym from a junk email account. I'm working on a petition now to make them fix their crap. I'm waiting on an official email response from them though (they are 'investigating my inquiry') so I have ammunition."

If @Ganrokh's reddit culprit was a requester, and @Ganrokh had done of his HITs before, the guy (or gal) could use 'ol Ganrokh's mturk id# to get enough info to really screw him over.

There could have been other more devious hackmaster ways, but if @stanleymilgram was correct, then this seems pretty plausible.
