Isn't the penalty only if you aren't able to pay it right away?

It wasn't bad once after a few years i figured out that 98% of what was in that booklet didn't apply to 100% of anything lol

How much is it typically with just Mturk as income that you owe? Just a rough estimate. This is my first year having only self-employed to declare and no pay stubs from somewhere. Just curious what range to expect..

I have this and my freelance graphic design/animation, but last year I still had pay stubs from the last actual 'job' I did.

Hi, it's gonna be the first time even for me and, till a few minutes ago, I thought I should have filled a 1099 but now, after reading again that very useful post by clickhappier, I saw that MTurkers should fill a 1040 C... Confused!!! May I ask which one did you fill and if you used any particular software?

Yeah I used united way's free H&R block account thing so it was fairly easy.

    http://www.unitedway.org/myfreetaxes/

15%? If you want to be super safe make sure you have 20% though. You can also read thread for more info.

1099-misc unless you are a top dog making over 20K on mturk and then you get a proper 1099

It sounds like you should seriously read the thread though :)

@clickhappier could correct me if I'm wrong though. :emoji_hugging:

Yeah, I've read that thread in the past, I need to reread it. I was hoping I'd have a part time job somewhere by now and could avoid some of this chaos :p Oh well :emoji_upside_down:

Eh with http://www.unitedway.org/myfreetaxes/ free H&R block thing that I'm pretty sure everyone here is able to take advantage of. (You just need to make under $64k) It is really easy.

Hah yeah learning is good :emoji_nerd:

And with something like taxes it is a good idea to not fuck it up.
