You should buy your own modem and router. The ones that ISPs give you are shit... mostly because they always seem to use the shitty combo units.

Yeah mine were slow at first. At the end I was working through my queue on one screen and accepting and finishing ones on the other. Once I did that my speed really went up.

 

YES! The combo unit it the problem. So if I hook up my own, which i've tried, do i need to get rid of the combo (little white box with lights) as well? I didn't do that the last time I tried. I just swapped out the big black box.

 

I should have figured out AHK before starting that key pressing survey....

Yes you will replace the combo unit with a compatible modem for your ISP and then plug in any decent router to the modem.

 

Me too, and watched a pretty good video.

 

Apparently the SMART status of my disk is failing/failed? at least that's what the diagnostic test at the apple store showed, but I'm not seeing any issues on my own
