If I see I'm about to lose a HIT while I'm working on it I just put in my mTurk ID for the survey code and then message them immediately after with my ID and the code. Never got a rejection from doing that yet.

 

RA's way is best, but as an alternative in the off chance that they had contact information in the hit, you can view the src in your hits log for today in MTS.
