    $1K's pretty standard for a new couch and should last 3-5 years, depending on how badly you mistreat it. If you're able to go to a large retail furniture store (Ashley's or something local) you might find one in about equal quality for $500-800.

    My big lots couch is like 2 or 3 years old now & still going strong and was far comfier than anything I sat on in the random furniture stores.. I think some of it is gonna come down to how its treated if that makes sense.

    I've seen some folks just obliterate furniture.. like they feel the need to cannon bomb into their couch when they sit down for some unknown reason? Also eating on the couch is nasty, buy a table people no one wants to come over & sit in your crumbs :flail:
