One of my friends is pretty salty.. He knows I sit around doing computer shit all day while he works 20 hours at In-N-Out and 20 at his unpaid internship but he makes around what my 'bad' weeks are on mturk. (once he gets the actual job that the intern ship is for though he will be making bank)

I still do not think Mturk as a reliable source for income. I still cannot make more than $40 most of the days. (probably it is my lack of efficiency and knowledge).

The money that I am making here directly goes to donations to many websites/causes. So win/win.

In California, the minimum wage is $10.50. Some cities have higher minimum wages, such as San Francisco. I can't make anywhere near $10.50 an hour on here, though. A $40 day is incredible and that happens if I work for about 8 hours. That's $5 an hour, before taxes.
