at the height of my drinking I was easily killing a handle of liquor all by myself in a day

One bottle would barely get my drunk. I've had nights where I had a fully big bottle and still went out drinking.

 

I went through a lot of bouts of quitting. Eventually I just had to teach myself that I wasn't quitting anything. Quitting implies giving something up. They really had no value for me. I didn't have to "give it up" - I just had to stop smoking them. I looked at them for what they are - just a waste of money that has no value whatsoever.

It's just getting over the whole - using it as a break kind of thing. Like the - i just worked for 3 hours, better go have a cigarette as a break. Or I just ate a meal - better go have a cigarette.

 

I was going to quit with chantix...until they told me it was going to cost 500 bucks! So I went from 2 packs a day to 8 or 10 cigarettes a day with a vapor cigarette. I already feel so much better. Just wish I could kick those last few.

 

I heard something about businesses in Japan giving non smokers extra vacation time to make up for the lost free break time. That sort of thing really should be more common.

 

I'm playing an NE Demon Hunter on Stormrage these days. Dunno if everyone else is Horde or Alliance.

I switched to ecigs some years ago, and quit those with the chantix. Thankfully my insurance covered it completely, jfc @ $500

 

What the hell kind of quals do you have that you get hits like that.

My "rock bottom" if you will was a ventricle ejection fraction of 10 percent at 40 years old, when I was I was diagnosed with alcoholic cardiomyopathy.
I though I was indestructible, I'm not.

Twenty years sounds like a long time, but you'd be surprised.

Obviously that does not happen to everyone, but just a heads up for what can happen.

Smokers at my office have to pay some crazy health insurance penalty. And some of the more reputable companies around here won't even hire smokers.
