oh hey that chansey finally evolved

 

i got doggy xanax from the vet once but it made him throw up a few times and made him pant so much i wondered if he was going to hyperventilate, so i didn't even want to go that route again. even though he's always been skittish, he only started having separation anxiety issues and needing to be caged after my dad died a few years ago. now he only has to be caged twice a week when i'm gone for more than like, 8 hours or so, and he only started biting his cage very recently, like in the last 3 months.

i tried a few alternatives, locking him in the kitchen or any safe/larger area and he starts out fine for a few times, then has accidents and goes nuts. but in a turn of events, i had to put my other dog down last month and he has behaved in his cage ever since. now i'm wondering if caging him made him feel bad because he couldn't protect her, and without her around he's just like whatevs.

Spoiler: he's a headcase but he's my headcase.

(he's also perpetually had this face since losing my other dog and it breaks my damn heart, he's so lost)
