I've posted this before, but it depends on if it's a "yes they worked here" reference or a personal/professional reference you list. If it's just to confirm you work there and whatnot, they legally can only confirm or deny you worked there and when, etc. If you use someone as your personal reference, definitely know if they will say good shit or not cause your former boss can say anything not considered slander if you use them as a personal reference and they for sure will.

This has happened multiple times to folks we know cause they used a former boss or co-worker who hated their guts as a personal reference and got dickered over big time cause the person was able to very legally reference things they had done at work (times they were late, times they missed deadlines, etc) cause they were dumb enough to not even ask the person to be their reference and apparently lacked the judgement to even realize that person disliked them or their work in the first place. And obvs, company policies may factor in (ie- your job telling you to keep your trap shut about negative stuff).

a while back I was getting a bunch of calls from numbers I did know sometimes the same number would call 4-5 times a day and never leave a message. I got tired of the constant calls so changed my voicemail message to

You have reached (xxx) xxx-xxxx if you would like a call back please leave a message, IF YOU CAN'T LEAVE A MESSAGE STOP CALLING

the number of calls I get from unknown numbers has drastically dropped

 

I would not reccomend barging into my house. Catahoulas are very protective of family and home.

I love dogs. I'm still not stupid enough to go up to a growling and defensive doggo. Skeeter literally chased folks off the farm before and he would do it again. He doesn't fuck around with strangers in his home. If he knows you, he loves you. If he doesn't know who you are and I seem nervous, he will not let you inside or anywhere near me.
