Every now and then I realize can do something a little better or a little longer than before it keeps me motivated to push through the pain and do the exercises cause some days it is really hard to get up out of that chair.

I hope Matt keeps making progress and doesn't injure himself trying to be cool in his wheelchair

Awesome requester. I emailed them because the original qualifier survey felt too short for me, so I wanted to make sure I did nothing wrong. I didn't pass the first time, so I wasn't qualified for this, however, they allowed me to retake it and I passed the 2nd time and qualified for this hit.

 

Both the physical therapists, his doctor, and the ortho doc say he's on track to be fairly normal at the 2 month mark (mostly cane walking) and then probably off the cane by 3 months or so. He'll still have to wait after that for a good bit before he's back on 2 wheels or jumping off cliffs, but he'll be able to do more and bend normally by then. I've been Hitler-esque about his PT stuff and when he needs to stop and rest at home, but that's what I'm here for, so he can be snippy with me all he wants lol.

And then I'll be back to biting my nails every time he's off doing something else extreme, cause that's how he lives his life. He's had numerous nasty injuries (pins, metal plates, broken bones, etc) and it's never stopped him from jumping out of the next sketchy plane or careening down a mountain or the next track day- whatever his ambition is that particular week lol. On the upside, at least I can put the wheelchair/walker/grabbers/etc in storage and have them ready to go for the inevitable next time!
