I totally skipped yesterday >.>' been going ham every day for the last week and needed a sanity day. Seems like I probably should have picked today instead, lol.

 

sanity days are good though. you never know with mturk. total crapshoot on what days turn out to be great. a blessing and a curse

 

Does anyone have an opinion on when (if ever) a search panda is superior to searching via straight up GID's when using panda crazy?

For instance, if you are trying to catch a task from a requester that uses 20 group id's, or 5 or 10, or w/e?

i was -just- in this situation, as in im literally packing my stuff right now because I get my keys tomorrow. the apartment alone cost me around 2,000 dollars just to move into and i made it all from turking. keep your nose to the grindstone. you can do it.

 

I feel you. I’m saving for moving too actually. By the start of next year.

my best tip would be try not to worry about the total amount of money you need by the end of next month and just grind every hit you get. cents add up. basically my goal today. it’s tough though. especially on slow days like today

 

was the 2 grand for first and last deposit? what all did the landlord ask from you in terms of proof of income?

 

My friend who I'm moving in with is also solely self employed (though not through mturk) had to give the landlord a tonnn of information. They wanted to see last years tax return, and a statement of payout from the place she contracts for, along with info about her savings, etc.

It really varies based on who you're talking to. Some people "get" self-employment, and will work with you, others just assume you're scamming them. It's always a few extra hoops for those of us without "traditional" income when it comes to application based things.

 

First month rent and deposit yeah, and then 300 dollars because I have a dog.

I work for a few platforms that keep logs. They are going to likely ask you for a tax form of some sort, but if you don't have that you can just say you're self employed and it's your first year doing it. They will then ask you for bank statements or logs. It really depends on the place. I ended up printing them a log of my mturk earnings from the dash, a log from another site from three separate days at the same time at the end of the day, to show how much I had earned each day, and to show "income", and then I printed off three months of my bank statements, and a photo of my paypal balance where I transfer the money out of. They took it no questions and instantly approved.

 

edit* I didn't print my mturk earnings from the dash, I printed my transfer history.

 

Mind you also, since I knew I was going to be printing my daily earnings for the apartment on those three days I WENT HARD AS FUCK and hit over $150 dollars each day for three days consecutively, which I'm sure made me look a lot better than I actually am lol.

 

After my friend initially apped for our place, and they knew she was self-employed, they were like: "well we still need a number to call to verify you're employed"

...

After they got over that, they resigned that the info I mentioned was fine, and she's sending it over tomorrow

 

hopefully i deal with someone who “gets” self employment, but not banking on it

 

there are plenty of places to live my dude. if one place says no, go to the next. someone will rent to you. you can apply to ten places a day lol. someone's gonna want your money. I landed it on the second place I went.
