    I’m at an Oktoberfest and I’m preeeetttyyy sure my one mile walk from the train to the brewery did not offset the too many pretzels with too much jalapeño cheese. But... worth it.

    It's weird because Wikipedia says it starts in October and lasts like two weeks then has all these dates listed in September. I'm starting to feel kinda lost in translation. There's also imitation festivals in September/October around the world too. Booze is a great thing for unifying people.

    Oktoberfest runs from September until like October 5th or something, because Germans are silly. But... beer and pretzels and encased meats, so, I’m not complaining.

    I've been to the one in Shiner/New Braunfels, TX and pretty sure it was in October. The water park in New Braunfels was still open because TX summer never ends. It's a great vacation even if you don't like beer, unless you hate water parks, live music, hot air balloons, and food that will try to kill you.

    We were stationed in Germany when I was 15. I never made it to the Munich Oktoberfest, but did go to the Cannstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart. The drinking age was 16, and they never carded anyone. Real German beer is potent.
