Well, 8 straps, figure each one is probably a 3000 lb strap, so say ~24,000 extra pounds of down force. Against a sustained 125 mph wind against the pitch of the roof that probably cuts the total force somewhere in half.

Of course, the doors and windows aren't boarded up, so once the wind gets inside an ~1800 square foot roof is getting almost 100% of the force so more like 140,000 pounds.


So I think they're going to need some more straps.



And unless those straps are connected to poured concrete anchors, they probably give up the ghost somewhere way before the yield strength of the strap, especially when the ground gets saturated.

I've done over 30, so do you mean literally, only completed 1 of them and batches don't come up, or that you need to complete at least 1, and something therefore is wrong. Sorry, just need a little clarification.
