    Just some reassurance from a req on reddit


    As a Requester, I don't think you all should worry too much. While some researchers will shy away after the so-called Bot Panic, MTurk doesn't have a lot of competition as a large pool of relatively inexpensive data, even when you pay at a fair rate (which I always try to do). The new normal is that you will see more CAPTCHAs, attention checks, and quality control questions from here on out.

    Academic researchers who use MTurk have largely been away all summer. It can be harder to get institutional approval for your research over the summer, and then there's a bottleneck at the beginning of the semester. I have no doubt that a ton of academic studies will be up in a few weeks.
