The only reason we didn't just lie about having him was because it was someone we knew so directly, who was often on the farm/ was friends with our landlord. Matt also thought he would see reason (lol) and that I was being overly paranoid. Sufficed to say, he agreed that the next time I was THAT convinced we needed to anne frank a dog, he would just do as told. Like, at one point, I just didn't call them when the dog showed up. I waited to see how long it would take them to even care he was gone and he had come to our house so many times, you figure they would at least call or text. It took over a week before they even came to ask. I did not want to relinquish the doggo and he did not want to leave, to the point he hid to avoid having to go and they had to forcibly pick him up and carry him. Now, I know that dogs are silly sometimes that way (skeeter and frank once escaped the airport and found a bbq, they were unwilling to leave their source of hotdogs at first, but were very pleased to see us lol. they just wanted those sweet tubes of meat) but this was so heartbreaking to me. The sweet yellow bro even got along famously with the cats, and we had 0 issues with taking him in until we could find a suitable home if we didn't end up keeping him ourselves.

So much nope to that situation. Some dogs are escape artists, but this dog was just super neglected and they would let him out of the garage without a fence or a tie out or ANYTHING and leave him ALONE outside and then be totally shocked he left for , ya know, someone to love him and feed him and such. We even offered to daysit him and stuff, since he clearly wanted playmates but we were told they were uncomfortable fencing him in and would not adopt him out to anyone who believed in that. I just...nope. I can't even.

 

...and I'm an Oklahoma fan but I'd love to visit here.
