Yeah, but making and managing phone calls gives them your identity? Are they using your phone number for identity?

But basically they're likely just getting your IMEI as a unique identifier. To get that on android, you need to call something that required phone permissions.

Worth noting as well, with the permission, it can do what it says, and make or manage phone calls, but it's really not a huge deal tbh.

It's just a matter of android permissions not really being granular enough. They broad stroke it.

 

Yeah it is something that google could improve but it is still leaps and bounds better than dealing with iOS.

My stepmom is only 6 years older than me (lol to that) and she used to be baffled at how often I got grounded, given that I was a huge goody two shoes compared to my older sister and my stepmom's siblings and just in general. He would ground me for getting an 88 in an AP class and my stepmom would be hollering at him for being completely ridiculous. She cried for the first time that I had ever seen when I moved into my dorm, cause she knew I wouldn't come back. True to form, my dad tried to ground me while I was in college, but since I just did not ever live at home again, it was only effective in making me less likely to ever go back.

My form of rebellion was things like going to the school my dad banned me from going to and taking my road test despite my dad telling me I couldn't. I hit that smartass point of like, "What are you even gonna do to me at this point bruh?!"

 

Oh yeah, 100% agreed.

Apple also treats developers like crap, and also creates really high barriers to entry in a lot of ways.

 

what happened

 

We were painting at church yesterday and a lady accidentally brushed the back of my hair with a full roller of bonding latex primer. I have hair down to my butt and I couldn't get it out! I was afraid I was going to have to cut it!

 

I bought an ipad for dolans so I at least have first hand experience with iOS now. From the user side just looking at the apps it is almost impossible to find a good app that does what I need for a lot of stuff that isn't $30 while on android you can find tons of cheap or free apps. The paid apps on iOS are often worse than free ones on android as well >.>

I totally agree: android has far more apps to choose from and usually much better than those for iOS.
