I've only been to two cities in Texas (three if you count Dallas / Fort Worth separately) but it's pretty much my favorite place that's not Pittsburgh or South Beach Miami.

How's the place you're living now as far as cost-of-living goes? Sometimes, even though a move might cost more upfront, you'll be able to live better on less money elsewhere and therefore pay off more debt more quickly.

I didn't think about it like that. I live in colorado so the rents aren't just high, they're going up really fast too. I have a harassing alcoholic upstairs neighbor from hell, but I can't really move to anywhere else in the area because they all cost hundreds more per month than mine. it's really been getting to me lately.

The Bay Area and LA County are way worse than our county.

I mean, it’s still AWFUL, but it could be worse

 

is it just me or is it weird that the higher the rents are, the less you get, and the worse the neighbors are? it's like the opposite of what's supposed to happen with higher prices somehow.
