13 AS A GAME is good. The Paradigm Shift mechanic is one of the most fun mechanics in a Offline FF game that made the game enjoyable. If we judge a game by its story, then a lot of FF games lack substance. I mean, X-2 had a horrible story that tried to pander to 13 year old girls but the gamplay made it playable.

I'm not saying that a Game can't have it all but sometimes you have to look at the media that you are criticizing and be objective on what it's trying to be first, which is a game.
