The reason they were different is based on how the games were evolving between the two of them. FF12 came out when Turn Based RPGs were huge and everyone were playing them, on the other hand FF13 came out when Online based games were becoming more popular and how they were trying to make a game that would simulate online synergy without the online factor. I think they both tried their best but ultimately had some flaws.

 

They re-released it on mobile with weird-looking sprites, but no, they did not remaster it, the bastards.

 

I think I enjoyed XIII because each game in the set was pretty different from the others. I thought I was going to hate Lightning returns and it was stressful the first time through but then I realized I loved the way it was set up lol. The ending was awesome!

Man the Z's really are rolling in today.

 

FF 13-2 is so infuriating because they really were trying too hard. It felt like 10-2 all over again. On the other hand, 13-3 was really good because of the new gameplay mechanics.
