I'm joking, but I'm not at the same time- if that makes sense.

My mother was in an out of foster care and an orphanage when they moved to the US, because her bio mom was...literally an alcoholic prostitute (100% serious here). The last foster family she lived with for several years was going to adopt her and then decided she was essentially too broken and ditched her back to the sytem. My pretty badass grandma (who dated my uncle in high school, can't make this shit up) decided she would adopt a 16 year old when she was in her early 20s, because she can't have bio kids and wanted to help older kids in the system. She went on to adopt 6 different teenagers and foster a few more- she's pretty badass. Her mother, my Nana Bunny, was pretty much my role model when I was little.

And so, my technical grandma was a grandma in her 30s. She has a lovely life partner, Linda, and they live in a fab little house with a hoard of tiny dogs on the coast. She taught me how to dye my hair, put on lipliner, and that manicotti should never be store bought. My italian grandmas rock.
