The only ones that I do come to 17c a word, but i usually go over by 20-100 words if I am in the mood, and am not done with whatever I am writing.

Woot, got the qual last night

 

So a 1,000 word whatever is only $10? That seems.. cheap, damn. Also do they filter out "filler" words or just let it go assuming writers don't fluff.

I forget a lot of things through the course of my day.. so yes.

I did several multi-thousand word whatevers and not only did I not get paid, but I had to pay to do them!
I don't miss 70 page reports from grad school...

 

2 of the qual hits. I wasn't sure, as they didn't give guidelines.

 

I grew up in my grandparents home. We had five generations living there and had a family farm. I never remember any of our animals being mis-treated. Animals were either to help with the work or to provide food. I remember helping slaughter, clean and butchering chickens, milking cows, and watching my "pet cow" leave in a cattle trailer one day ... She was no longer giving milk ... I think I was about six-years old at the time. My grandfather told me she was just going to the "old cows home" .... I found out about 10 years later that she provided all that great hamburger and roasted meat for the next 6 months ... Oy Vey ...

 

I am the writer, so i have to not be in the story

 

Well depending on who/what you write for they'll have headings and/or keywords that they want you to put it which cuts into that 1000 words. And yeah 1000 for $10 is "cheap" but if you have a requester that wants like for example "10 articles about apartments in New Zealand" then once you do one you then have a $10 template you can crank out

They were all the writer AND in the story.

 

I'd say it needs to be a bit higher than this. When it's a lower word count (less than 300 words, but sometimes 500 words) it's really not much research in the writing. 1,000 word articles usually require a bit more effort and research. Not saying you can't find something to do it at that amount though.

 

how did your family kill the chicken? My dad grabbed them by the neck and spun around in a circle real fast.
