They also made it harder to write off home office stuff, and made the guidelines for what even constitutes a taxable home office space more strict- on top of the fact that home office deductions make you wayyyy more likely to be audited (hello, I've been audited lol). I got just railed by Uncle Sam last year tax wise, and I specifically changed my office setup in this house according to what my tax homey told me (Hello, I now have a door!). Even tax software makes it stupid easy though, it will tell you if you can or cannot write off something (I usually use H&r block tax software and then have the tax guy for the farm check it over for me to see if I missed anything). It will legit tell you, "Oh hey sorry, you cannot write that off for x & y reason."
