West Texas. Mountains protect us from tornadoes ever forming. We get wind and sand storms from February to May that can get up to 80-90 MPH, but they are kinda rare. Droughts last about 4-5 months almost every year. And the long Texas summers are shitty. No humidity though. People around here will start complaining about humidity around 30%.

Seismic events are minimal and you'll never really feel them unless you live one county over.

Isn't that sort of the same as sports stats though? "BLAARRGH!!!! QB christurk has set a record for passing yards while a hurricane is off the eastern seaboard during the period when mars is in retrograde!"

After Hurricane Sandy, my neighbors were on the national news, casually kayaking past news crews cause the urge for a slice of pizza trumps flooding.

That about sums up the type of batshit crazy I grew up around :emoji_laughing: You can't tell, right? I seem totally normal?:emoji_thinking:

...and snow. And hail. And earthquakes. And droughts with sudden lightning cause the rain from the thunderstorms goes past us, but the lightning sets the town on fire.

yeahhhh, mountain town living was a little nutso. They didn't call it the town of four seasons for nothing lol.

but, like, everywhere has their own shit. I've lived in 3 corners of the US now, and it's just different versions of the same shit. "Oh no, [insert weather phenom here] is happening again, just like last year! SHOCKING!
