money is fleeing China? hardly, they have the highest population of density of billionaires (besides some middle eastern countries I believe). And oem suppliers of products have been selling directly to non chinese drop shippers since a few years ago. This made my friend leave beijing after working there for 5 years (he was essentially being cut out as the middleman to these dropshippers because of this new trend) but that doesn't mean I didn't benefit because I now have relationships with hella suppliers who dropship to my customers directly and I reap huge profit margins (e.g. $.99 shades marked up to $53) without having to place bulk orders. This is like their disruptive version of the startup craze in America and everyone from individuals to traditional giant Chinese factories is benefiting from this new marketplace structure.

Edit: the government is even accommodating the trend by creating a new postal service class called e-packet which dropships my small items anywhere in the world from China for under $8 and in like 14 days , without customs scrutiny or the usual 45-60 day delivery times out of china

 

I used to work in a Chinese restaurant....Mandarin and Cantonese are hard as fuck compared to German and Spanish....their version of using one word for different meanings depends on inflection and tone and it's really difficult to master....at least for Southern white boy with hella accent to start with...lol

 

All of my AWS hits have approved, including the "website didn't load" ones, and the stuff like "Town of ...." without clicking the "not a business" button.

It is quite simple really, you just put Sweet n Sour or Kung Pao in front of any word and bam you are a native speaker....

 

I used to work at a Chinese restaurant in Wisconsin and the family owners spoke a dialect I couldnt understand called Toisanese. Because I am fluent in Cantonese I'm able to understand about 65% of mandarin

The two owners spoke Cantonese, but the cook and dishwasher spoke Mandarin....they didn't what each other were saying half the time and would up with a bastardized version of both...i still mangle them up when I try to use it at the massage parlor Chinese takeout....

 

My furnace went out and we used 1 space heater for a month il we until we got our pellet stove installed, our electric bill was close to $300!
